Italian composer and pianist Alessandro Sgobbio makes return to his primal vocation with ‘Piano Music’, a new solo recording of intimate piano epistles and dedications. Repertoire on ‘Piano Music’, recorded at the Artesuono Studios in Italy on a stunning Fazioli F278 Grand Piano, features Sgobbio’s compositions from his live recitals (yet unreleased so far) as well as brand new music written during the recent pandemic times.

“I find such an extremely powerful experience to sit on piano, close my eyes and start playing a dedicated song to a loved person, place or theme. Each piece is like an open trip diary, where the composer, the listener and the person, place or theme whose the music is dedicated to - they all can join, meditate, heal, be.”

Since his debut piano solo album “Aforismi Protestanti”, Alessandro keeps expanding his own personal vocabulary of compositions, improvisations and spiritual explorations throughout music. He’s earned master’s degrees at the Norwegian Academy of Music (Oslo) and the Boito Conservatory of Music (Parma), releasing 13 albums as a leader/co-leader.
